The president is elected directly by an absolute majority of valid votes. If no candidate obtains more than half, the two leading candidates contest a separate runoff; each round has its own denominator.
Vote shares are calculated from 516,881 valid candidate votes. 528,813 ballots were cast; 11,932 ballots were outside the valid-vote denominator. Turnout is ballots cast divided by 743,150 registered voters.
All eight candidates are recorded, including candidates below IFES’s published 2% cutoff. The complete CNE-derived table supplies the smaller candidates. IFES labels the 11,125-vote candidate Manuel Tilman; the election-specific complete table identifies Luís Alves Tilman. This record uses Luís Alves Tilman and does not conflate him with the 2007 and 2012 candidate Manuel Tilman. Null, blank and rejected ballots are excluded from the 516,881-valid-vote denominator.
Colours are editorial identifiers. No numeric ideology scores or unsupported election-era ideology links have been assigned.
